The IT Cloud DevOps team is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS) specialising in privileged access management. Our team owns the Cloud Landing Zone and CI/CD infrastructure and supports IT DevOps teams across the organisation.

The assignment will focus on:

- Managing privileged access for IT professionals

- Taking functional and security requirements through design, including tool selection, to the implementation of practices and processes

- Objectives: manage authenticated and authorised privileged access securely, in line with least privilege, with appropriate traceability and auditability for systems hosted on AWS public cloud and used by developers, DevOps engineers and SREs.

Required skills:

• Public cloud: Amazon Web Services (required): 5 or more years of experience

• Infrastructure as code: Terraform required, 4 years of experience

• Privileged access management: significant experience with successful implementations in a regulated environment; strong experience with PAM solutions such as Okta, CyberArk, HashiCorp Vault, OneLogin, SecureAuth or AWS Secrets Manager

• Automation and continuous integration: ideally GitLab CI, 5 years of experience

• Production operations and project delivery in IT infrastructure:

OS: Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Docker and others) and Windows; advanced system administration skills, including diagnosing configuration and performance issues

• Open-source middleware solutions

• Security: IT privileged access management, certificates, encryption keys and related topics

Python required; Java and Node.js optional. Familiarity with agile methods, including sprint planning and agile ceremonies.

Assignment context:
Our client’s Cloud DevOps team manages the Public Cloud platform (Landing Zone), hosted on AWS.
This includes the following activities:
• Design, build and maintain the AWS Landing Zone: organisation, networking, access and deployment pipelines
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD infrastructure and associated tooling: generic Terraform modules, code quality, security and testing
• Support projects and application DevOps teams in their cloud adoption
• Define technical cloud governance and oversee its application
 
Team organisation:
The Cloud Product Owner reports to the Head of Cloud DevOps and is responsible for:
• Agile product ownership: managing priorities, the backlog and product quality, and ensuring operations follow agreed practices
• Operational coordination within the team and across teams, including knowledge management
• Project management: managing the budget and preparing and chairing programme steering committees
• Building and maintaining the roadmap for core activities and new product features
• Acting as the single point of contact for projects and handling requests
• Prioritising topics and supporting product adoption
• Owning the product’s technical quality: resilience, security, cost optimisation and operations
• Assigning day-to-day tasks to a team of around 10 people
• Preparing and presenting steering committees and tracking the budget

10+ years of team and project management experience, agile methods (Kanban, Scrum), and public cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS and CI/CD infrastructure
- Fluent English for international meetings
- Desirable: experienced user of tools such as Jira and Confluence

Within the operations and technology department, the head of our retail client’s DBA team is seeking expertise for a production database administration assignment.

Responsibilities & Tasks

To maintain all production and pre-production database environments, the consultant will manage incidents, fulfil standard and non-standard service requests, and contribute to technical projects: obsolescence management, qualification of new database versions and assessment of new database technologies.

Skills & Profile

An experienced or expert database administrator with strong open-source expertise, able to work independently and communicate effectively in cross-team meetings. Expertise in open-source SQL databases: MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL. Expertise in NoSQL databases: Cassandra, MongoDB and Elasticsearch; Couchbase is a plus. Good knowledge of technical environments: LPAR (AIX), VMware virtual machines and OpenShift containerised databases.
